Bardiglio
The grey of the Apuan range — from soft dove to deep blue-grey, with fine darker veining. Understated and consistently available.
Bardiglio is the grey that comes out of the same basins as the Carrara whites. Depending on the selection it runs from a soft dove grey through to a deep, almost blue charcoal, with fine darker veining and sometimes a clouded, smoky character in the Nuvolato selections.
It is a working stone rather than a showpiece, and that is its strength. It pairs naturally with Bianco Carrara from the same quarries — a combination Italian architects have used for centuries — and it holds a floor together without competing for attention.
Availability is good and pricing is stable, which makes it a sensible choice where a project needs grey marble in quantity rather than a single spectacular slab.
