About Zio Marble
A Neapolitan family business in the Italian marble trade since the mid-1980s — now selling to the world.
Zio Marble is the new name over a business that is not new at all. Our uncle has been buying and selling Italian marble since the 1980s, working out of Poggiomarino near Naples and travelling north to the Apuan Alps to choose stone himself. At its height the operation moved around forty truckloads a month.
“Zio” is Italian for uncle. The name is not a marketing device — it is who built this, and the relationships that come with him are the actual asset.
What has changed
The trade was always done by telephone, in Italian, with people who already knew us. That worked for decades and it left a great deal on the table. A buyer in Xiamen or Stuttgart or Dubai had no way of finding us. This site exists to fix exactly that — the same stone, the same selection, the same prices, now reachable in six languages.
What has not
We still do not own a quarry, and we do not claim to. We buy from the people who do, at prices earned over forty years of showing up. Every block is still chosen by eye before it is loaded. If you want a supplier who will tell you when a block is not worth your money, that is the part of this business we are least willing to change.
